A familiar name and face to many in the numismatic trade, he will join Baldwin’s from Colin Cooke Coins on September 19.
His appointment follows upheavals at Baldwin’s including the loss of key specialists.
Earlier this month, it emerged that five members of staff had left to join Ian Goldbart, former managing director of AH Baldwin & Sons, in new Mayfair coin dealership Sovereign Rarities.
A spokesman said: “Baldwin’s have been through considerable change in the past 12 months with several long-standing staff members moving on. This appointment marks a significant turning point, and under his leadership Baldwin’s hard-won reputation will be maintained.”
Paisley will meet Baldwin’s customers at the forthcoming Coinex fair and auction series.
