In her 26 years at the firm, Dwek has been a senior advisor and strategist for the global Contemporary department and, in particular, helped grow the company’s activities in the post-war Italian art market.

She helped secure a number of single-owner collections including the consignment of 20th Century Italian art that formed the ‘Italian Identity’ auction in 2011 and the mixed-category collection offered as the ‘Bear Witness’ sale in 2015.

She will work alongside colleagues in London, Paris and Milan as well as other European departments including Bastienne Leuthe who has been promoted to senior director, and head of contemporary art in Germany.

Dwek joins the company’s other global heads of contemporary art: Oliver Barker, chairman of Sotheby's Europe; Alex Branczik, Sotheby's head of contemporary art in Europe; and Grégoire Billault, head of Contemporary art in New York.
