Preston’s of Bolton, which specialised in retail and second hand jewellery, opened their final sale on Saturday, September 3.

Store manager Sue Meade described the closing sale as “bad news for Prestons” but “good news for lovers of diamonds.”

The jewellers will close for the last time when the stock sells out completely.

The four-floor shop was founded by goldsmith James Preston in 1869.
