The new gallery will be located across the fifth and sixth floors of the building known as H Queen's (HQ) tower, which is currently under construction. The total exhibition space will total over 10,000 square feet.

It will add to the dealer’s two existing galleries in New York and one in London.

The HQ tower will be “a purpose-built 24-storey gallery and lifestyle tower” and is due to open in mid 2017. The developers have billed it as “a game-changer for how we may experience lifestyle and art in Hong Kong. It is set to become Hong Kong's most dynamic vertical lifestyle and arts precinct.”

Zwirner’s decision to move to the gallery reportedly came after participating in Hong Kong fairs, during which he saw mounting interest in Western art from Asian collectors.

The gallery is slated to hold five or six exhibitions a year at its new outpost.

Zwirner is the latest of several galleries who have opened new locations in Hong Kong including Gagosian Gallery and White Cube.
