Actor Richard Grant tweeted about his visit to Sunbury Antiques Market.
Grant, who fell into our consciousness in the 1987 film Withnail and I, is a fan of collecting.
Since living in a bedsitter in Portobello Road in the early 1980s, Grant has been, he says, “a lifelong hoarder and collector… once you start collecting things, it becomes an obsession”.
His collecting bug includes a huge collection of puppets and papier-mâché carnival heads.
He is proud of his ‘finds’ and recently posted a photo of himself on Twitter at Sunbury Antiques Market in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey.
Brandishing, what looks like a potato masher, he wrote: “I’ve got one.”
The twice monthly market hosts more than 700 stalls. Will the next edition, on January 10, also tempt Grant to spend?
