Bernard will oversee the operations of Sotheby’s Paris, the company’s fourth largest selling centre after New, York, London and Hong Kong.

She will report to Mario Tavella, who is president-directeur général of Sotheby’s  France and chairman of Sotheby’s Europe.

Bernard began her career as an Old Master paintings specialist and has been working for over 25 years in the art market for international auction houses in London and Paris.

Recently she was in charge of the development of the Hôtel des Ventes de Drouot in Paris.
