The latest suit was filed against Leigh Keno by Sloans & Kenyon in Maryland over the non-payment of an invoice totalling $76,630 from an auction held on April 30-May 1.
It follows claims against the brothers by Stair Galleries in Hudson, New York, and Kamelot Auctions in Philadelphia – the latter over a $200,000 bill which has now been settled.
When news of a suit over a six-figure bill owed to New Orleans Auction Galleries (NOAG) emerged in July, the brothers’ lawyer called it “a temporary issue of liquidity, unprecedented for them but hardly unheard of in the auction business”. The brothers insisted that payment on all debts would be forthcoming.
