It had been owned by Doris Rayment since the 1960s. She died in 2011 and her daughter, Janice Enticknap, the centre's manager, placed a statement in last week's ATG saying that "the future of this popular antiques centre is now secured much to the relief of regular customers".
Mrs Enticknap said all the busy centre's 30 dealers, many of them longstanding, are pleased about the sale, adding that Palladian have other interests in the town, including Augustus Brandt Antiques, and are very keen on promoting Petworth's attractions.
