Pictured with the illuminated manuscript confirming that the petition of the Arts Scholars had been "well liked" by the Court of Aldermen are the officers of the Company.

After the presentation on July 3, 300 Arts Scholars and their guests sat down to a celebratory lunch in the grand Egyptian Hall at the Mansion House at which the Lord Mayor welcomed the Company as a valuable addition to the Livery movement.

Membership of the Worshipful Company of Arts Scholars is open to all those actively engaged in the appreciation of the decorative arts, including dealers and auctioneers, curators, researchers, writers and collectors, not forgetting insurers, shippers, lawyers and restorers and other specialists in the field. As well as bringing together like-minded professionals, the Company will have an increasingly important charitable function.

A recent major bequest means that the Arts Scholars charitable trust is now very well endowed for so young a company and set to make a valuable contribution, particularly in the field of education.
