Free to download from iTunes and sponsored by Antiques Trade Gazette, the game probes contestants' knowledge  in four specialist categories: furniture and clocks, ceramics and glass, fine art and sculpture and silver and jewellery.

Each question is ilustrated with an object from a LAPADA dealer and there are three levels of difficulty. Clearly the app is intended to reach out to a new audience, but with players' results posted on an online scoreboard members of the trade may well put in some time to prove their expertise.

The game was conceived by LAPADA director Sean Clarke of Christopher Clarke Antiques, a former winner of the ATG Pub Quiz.

"There is so much knowledge and experience among the LAPADA members and such fantastic stock, this quiz app presents a wonderful opportunity to showcase both in a manner that is entertaining and informative," he said.

The game will be automatically refreshed as LAPADA members add fresh stock and questions. LAPADA point out that their quiz is the only app on antiques from the 9000 currently available to download from iTunes.
