Appearing at Guildford Crown Court on September 7, Jamie Channon, 33, and 30-year-old Tony Moore, both of Tilbury, Essex, were sentenced for their parts in the Haslemere theft and a series of others at 13 supermarkets, after both being charged with conspiracy to burgle. Channon was sentenced to seven years and Moore to five years in total (three and two years respectively for the rhino head break-in).
They were caught after a BBC Crimewatch appeal in September last year, following the theft at the museum in May 2011.
In July, a 19-year-old Iraqi immigrant was jailed for two and a half years at Norwich Crown Court for his part in a gang's attempt to steal a rhino horn from Norwich Castle in February.
