It was the second dog the artist had by that name and often features in his later drawings. Bought from Christie's from Landseer's deceased estate in 1874, the 8½ x 11in (22 x 28cm) work will be offered in the debut sale of Catherine Southon Auctioneers in Shirley, South London on November 15 with an estimate of £800-1200.
Catherine, formerly head of scientific instruments and maritime works of art at Sotheby's, is also a well-known face as an expert on TV shows such as Flog It! and Antiques Road Trip.
Every one of the 300-plus lots in the sale has been sourced privately, she says.
