It was hoped that Davies Street would reopen to traffic in the middle of this year, but Crossrail's application, if accepted, would mean the continued closure of the road until September 2013.
Both dealers and the centre's management have made it clear they oppose the extended closure, but it seems likely that approval will be granted by the local authority since Crossrail are following procedures already outlined in their development plans.
