The sale at the university on July 23 was conducted by Fellows' managing director Stephen Whittaker and was the highlight of a private gala dinner involving the Jamaican Olympic team, based in the city for their training camp.
Bolt's spikes were the second lot and a bidding war got going quickly, with Eamon Gaughan of luxury car dealer The Torque Project ending as the successful bidder.
Money raised will go towards supporting a Jamaican student to study at the University of Birmingham.
