Enamel sign-making all really started in Wolverhampton in the 1850s. A recently closed factory in the area, that was still making signs for the pub industry, the AA and other national companies, is one of the sources of a lot of the signs in this auction.
The Eglentine sign is estimated at £3000-4000.
