They aleady stage these events at Swinderby and Newbury Racecourse, and say that their success has made them look for further locations.

Three dates are planned this year at Redbourn with the first on Monday, June 20, followed by Bank Holiday Monday, August 29 and October 17. This will be an outside-only event with up to 300 stalls expected for the first fair. Costs will be the same as for Swinderby and Newbury's outside pitches at £40 pre-booked and £60 on the day.

The organisers' choice of the Hertfordshire venue is due to its location close to the M1 and near the M25 and their identification of high income earners living in the area, particularly in and around St Albans, seven miles away.

IACF do not release visitor numbers at their fairs but have stated that their overall gate figures were up by 12 per cent last year over 2009, with their biggest gate at Newark this month in five years, a 30 per cent increase over the period.

Figures were boosted by Channel 4's Kirstie's Homemade Home last year, which saw IACF's website viewing figures hit 4000 in one day following each episode which featured their fairs.
