There is no record of a table bell in published works on Channel Islands silver, including Richard Mayne's work Old Channel Islands Silver, Its Makers and Marks, and none were shown at the seminal exhibition of Channel Islands Silver organised by the Guernsey Rotary Club in 1978.

This new discovery, in fine original condition, is struck three times with the maker's mark of arguably the archipelago's finest silversmith, Guillaume Henry, who worked on Guernsey c.1720-1767.

Although a diminutive 5in (12.5cm) high and weighing just 5oz, on September 22 it improved upon its £4000-6000 estimate to sell to a leading collector of Channel Islands silver at £7200 (plus 15% buyer's premium).
