The move reflects a new partnership between three former members of the Bonhams & Goodman staff who maintain ties with the recently relaunched Bonhams' Australian operation.

James Bruce, a fourth generation auctioneer whose ancestor opened an auction business in Adelaide in 1878, is joining forces with James Badgery (formerly operations manager at Bonhams & Goodman) and Lee Stone (formerly chief financial officer of Sotheby's Australia and Bonhams & Goodman).

Working with them will be Scotsman Robert Williams who started his career with Rosebery's in 2004 before recently working with both Bonhams and Sotheby's in Australia.

Theodore Bruce Auctions will work with the recently re-launched Bonhams brand in Sydney – a relationship similar to that previously enjoyed by Sotheby's Australia and Melbourne saleroom Leonard Joel.

"We aim to concentrate in the mid tier market and provide a one stop shop for clients" said Badgery.

"Due to our close relationship with Bonhams I'm confident that we will be able to provide our clients with a complete range of National and International auction services," added James Bruce.

Theodore Bruce in Sydney will operate from 65-73 Queen Street, Beaconsfield. www.theodorebruceauctions.com.au
