The anniversary sales will see 1000 lots from three local country estates go under the hammer, together with a collection of naval cannon including one from the 1707 wreck of the HMS Association and another from Nelson’s flagship, HMS Foudroyant.

Dreweatts, a pioneering user of the-saleroom.com’s online live bidding facilities since 2006, see it as a good opportunity to encourage clients to try online bidding without incurring an extra fee.

“We are committed to maintaining our services to clients at the forefront of technological advances and, in celebration of our 250th anniversary sales, we will bear the usual three per cent surcharge on behalf of successful online bidders. Dreweatts began life as a Newbury-based furniture auctioneer and workshop cum land agent, established in 1759.
