Over 50 bizarre inventions from the Collins family collection range from a 1920s automatic nose hair cutter to a whisky bottle to stop thieving servants from 1882. They will be on display from August 14 to November 12 at the Business & IP Centre, on the 1st floor of the British Library, Euston Road, London.

There will also be a talk entitled Eureka Oops by Maurice Collins, author of Eccentric Contraptions and Ingenious Gadgets, at 6.30pm on September 2 at the same address.
