The auctioneers, who currently do not have a dedicated contemporary art department, will test the waters with a 75-lot evening sale at Bond Street on February 5, launching a month of contemporary art sales in the capital that begin at Christie's the following day.
Prints comprise just over half of the auction, but there are also original works, photographs and pieces of mixed media, with prices starting at £500 and rising to £200,000 for Banksy's a 6ft (4m) long rendition of Laugh Now.
Not surprisingly, with 20 lots on offer, Banksy once more reigns supreme over other luminaries associated with the genre, such as Keith Haring, Adam Neate and Antony Micallef.
Bonhams, who will use the new platform to promote at least six names never before seen at auction said urban artists would still feature in Vision 21 sales.
