Managed by Greenbee, the direct services company of the John Lewis Partnership, The Home of Art and Antiques Online provides a directory with more than 25,000 antiques and works of art currently on display in galleries across the country at http://onlinegalleries.co.uk.
All dealers have to be registered members of BADA, LAPADA or SLAD.
Customers will be able to search for a particular item, artist or dealer, or by region.
John Lewis Partnership say the initiative is in response to the one million of their customers who collect art or antiques either as a hobby or investment.
Greenbee managing director James Furse said: “Our research has shown a growing trend in customer shopping habits for art and antiques, but with a desire for easier access to view and research potential purchases. This directory will offer customers an easily searchable database of art and antiques for sale to assist those looking for that special piece.”

THE UK’s top dealer associations have struck a deal with retailer John Lewis leading to the launch of an extensive online art and antiques directory aimed at shoppers.
