The two winners, chosen by a judging panel, received £1500 each for their design plus up to £1500 towards the cost of getting the item made.
Against stiff competition, the winner in the Student Category was Birmingham School of Jewellery student Helen Puxley, whose creative toast rack comprised silhouettes of people shopping in the jewellery quarter.
The winner in the Professionals Category was designer silversmith Martyn Pugh of Redditch who came out tops with his asymmetric candlesticks.
Silver design winners are happy Fellows
In celebration of Fellows & Sons’ 130th anniversary, students and practising goldsmiths were invited by the Birmingham-based auctioneers to submit a design for a piece of utilitarian silver.
