The new office, just moments away from the Kremlin on Romanov Pereulok, 4, Bldg.2, 125009, will provide a range of client services and allow Sotheby’s to exhibit highlights from sales worldwide. Exhibitions started in January when highlights from the inaugural London sale of modern and contemporary Russian art, as well as highlights from the New York sale of Western Contemporary art, were put on display.
The opening of the new office is being marked with a show of highlights from the June sales of Impressionist & Modern and Contemporary Art, including a painting from Monet’s waterlily series and a Bacon self portrait.
Now Sotheby’s join the Moscow throng
Sotheby’s have opened an office in Moscow and appointed Mikhail Kamensky, a former director and presidential advisor to the Bank of Moscow, as managing director.
