The new selling centre will run alongside Mallams’ established city centre salerooms in Oxford (Bocado House) and Cheltenham (Grosvenor Street). Planning permission has already been granted.

The writing has been on the wall for the Bicester saleroom since plans for a major redevelopment of the town were announced a year ago. The site will be partially razed to make way for a new supermarket car park.

It has been Mallams’ general rooms for seven years – it was here that they sold Victorian and Edwardian furniture and effects – but Messengers were there for many years before then. Tim Messenger, who still works for Mallams in a consultancy role, helped out with the final sale on Monday, September 17 when the new site was announced.
