Following visits to ATG, Christie's and Sotheby's, they enjoyed an evening visit to the Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair.
To experience a provincial saleroom, they travelled to Washington rooms of Toovey's in West Sussex, where the chairman of the RICS Art and Antiques Faculty, Rupert Toovey, led a discussion on the differences between the French and UK auction systems.
Finally they took in a busy London weekend sale at Lots Road on Saturday morning before winding down with lunch at Tate Modern.
French auctioneers get a taste of the British antiques scene
A delegation of 17 members of the Syndicat National des Maison de Ventes Voluntaires (SyMEV, the main body representing French auctioneers) was in England last week for a three-day study tour investigating different aspects of the UK market.
