National Auction Weekend, as it is known, was launched in 2005 to promote the advantages and attractions of bidding at sales.
The weekend is co-ordinated by SyMEV (Syndicat National des Maisons de Ventes Voluntaires), the umbrella organisation representing the French auction industry, and is supported by ATG and a number of high-profile backers.
