Owner Michael Butler, an ex-farmer who owns the land and the farm buildings which were converted to create the undercover "village", said: "This project has taken two years to come to fruition and I'm absolutely delighted at the 100 per cent take-up in the shops and with 160 of the cabinets let out of a possible 220. We have a mixture here of antiques, collectors' and interior design pieces and an excellent cafe and this is in a beautiful part of the Essex countryside just nine miles from the Suffolk border."

Costume jewellery, vintage fashion, garden architecture and prints are among the items offered by dealers listed at Peterfield. Tel: 01787 47233 or visit www.peterfieldantiquevillage.co.uk
