Part of a more general refurbishment currently being undertaken to improve facilities at the Victoria Gallery, visitors to the saleroom will now be able to enter through a remodelled main entrance on Market Street. Previously, access to the auction room was possible only via the less impressive warehouse entrance towards the rear of the building.
"I am sure [clients] will agree it is a vast improvement on the rather cluttered, untidy environment that was previously found when arriving at our rooms", proprietor Robert Stones told ATG. Planned for the second phase are a new accounts office, new reception area, duplex office suite, open plan valuation and lecture room. Work is scheduled for completion by September when the firm will celebrate 50 years in business.
