The fair, which will run on the Monday and Tuesday after Swinderby – the old Newark slot – will stand six times a year to tie in the Arthur Swallow event and dmg’s giant Newark fair.

The new event will launch on January 31.

Jaguar were disappointed at having to cancel the planned event at RAF Wymeswold, but believe they can offer as good or even better facilities at the Lincolnshire Showground. There is an exhibition centre, onsite toilets, shower blocks, telephones and other facilities.

Jaguar’s Alan Cartwright told the Antiques Trade Gazette that timing had made it difficult to promote the event but added that the response so far has been overwhelming, with calls from as far away as Australia.

Stall prices start at £90 in the Exhibition Centre and £70 in marquees, with pre-booking deals on offer.

Set-up will be on Sunday afternoon from 2pm.

Admission costs £5 between 8am and noon on the Monday, £3 between noon and 5pm on Monday and £3 on the Tuesday.
