His Spring exhibition Animal Dando and Friends is now in its 13th year and will be held from March 19 to April 2 at Andrew Dando Antiques, a third-generation dealership at 34 Market Street, Bradford-on-Avon.

This selling show seems to go from strength to strength and, whereas initially it was given over to animal subjects, it now embraces the two-legged variety as well, and this year theatrical and political figures are to the fore.

With a General Election in the offing, expect interest in two rare large figures of former Prime Ministers Disraeli and Gladstone, made by Wayte and Ridge in 1876.

Since the business was established in 1915, literally thousands of pieces have passed through the family's hands.

But Andrew's wife, Janice, tells me that each year she continues to be surprised at the diversity of subjects produced by the English potters, and thrilled to discover a figure not seen before. A case in point this year is a Derby model of a greyhound which appears to be previously unrecorded.

Around 150 pieces of fresh stock will be offered in the show at prices from around £150 up to £25,000. Doors open at 11am on Saturday March 19 and as in previous years the exhibition will be available on the internet one day later.
