The library’s collection of 16th to 20th century veterinary publications has been formed out of gifts and donations from veterinarians and other animal health workers down the years. Regular usage of these works has taken its toll on both paper and bindings and many elements of the 3000-strong collection are in very poor condition and urgently need to be treated and rebound. There is no current provision in the RCVS budget for this conservation work.

Adopting a title costs £100. A bookplate recording the adopter’s contribution will be placed in the book once it has been treated
and conserved. The first list of titles is available at www.rcvslibrary.org.uk/adoptabook or can be requested from the RCVS Library by calling 020 7222 2021.
