Diss auctioneers Thos. Wm. Gaze & Son charged with clearing a private house in the area - had dated it to around 1910, but this was probably a little late for a form and pattern close in design to those first retailed through Liberty's at the end of 1902. Four telephone bids and a number of commissions saw it sell on November 26 (in front of the Bargain Hunt cameramen) to a collector at £5200. The price, incidentally, was considerably more than any piece sold as part of Christie's December 2 sale devoted to the factory.
