In response to inquiries from Antiques Trade Gazette readers frustrated by the adminstrators’ automatic answering service and out-of-date web site, we contacted The Garden City Group, the Melville, New York-based company charged with administering the settlement in Europe.

Kim Greenbaum of The Garden City Group told us: “There is a motion before the Court and you cannot do anything until the Court says you can distribute. We are waiting to hear from the Court.”

When asked if there was any time scale regarding the Court giving the go-ahead to pay out, she said there was none.

Last September we reported the New York company’s apology for an error on the compensation claim forms. This followed an Antiques Trade Gazette front-page story relating how, in many cases, figures quoted in forms sent out notifying claimants of their entitlements had been transcribed in dollars rather than sterling.
