Windsor House Antiques have been leading international dealers for four decades and have plenty of stock costing many thousands of pounds, but with the intent of demonstrating that good quality can be affordable they have put together a large selection of items costing £50 to £5000 at their showrooms at 28-29 Dover Street, W1 and their adjacent five-storey Georgian townhouse at 23 Grafton Street.
Apart from the items illustrated right, a sample of what is on offer includes a pair of c.1900 carved mahogany library chairs at £5000; a Meiji Japanese bronze of a lion and tiger at £2900; a small Regency rosewood chiffonier at £3900 and an elegant George III mahogany tea table at £3400.
Making Mayfair affordable
WHAT a nice idea Mayfair dealers Windsor House Antiques have come up with for their March selling exhibition. In an area of London not renowned for its bargain prices, Windsor House, who have rather grand premises themselves, mount from March 3 to 14 a show entitled Antiques Under £5000.
