One, a 9in (23cm) diameter blue-tinted bowl in the Muguet pattern with a stencilled mark to the base, was estimated at £300-500 but sold at £1050.
The other was an 8 1/4in (21cm) high Domremy vase of deep opalescent form which went above estimate at £1100.
An early 20th century Art Nouveau pewter square biscuit box, with interlaced stylised lilies and stamped English Pewter, fetched £880 and, moving into the 1920s and 30s, a Doulton Sung glazed vase with a purple and red mottled design and decorated with an albatross in flight sold at £800.
Lalique stands out from Victoriana
BILLED as a regular Victorian sale, the main attractions of Abbots Auction Rooms' (10% buyer's premium) March 29 sale were in a 129-lot specialist decorative arts section – in particular two pieces of René Lalique glass.
