Now held in spring and winter, the events have evolved into what could be described as very select mini-fairs.
The next will be held over the weekend of May 7 to 9 and Hallidays have invited along the Bruton Gallery from Yorkshire with pictures and bronzes; Derbyshire early oak specialist Peter Bunting; Burford expert in sporting antiques Manfred Schotten; Kent decorative prints dealer Ingrid Nilson; and M&N Carpets from Manchester.
A contemporary touch is added by Scandinavian photographer Mats Nilson (Ingrid’s brother-in-law), and Natalie Harris will be there with her jewellery crafted from pearls and unusual gemstones. Sophie Pattinson will attend with hand-embroidered textiles, and also present will be Patricia Hamilton, who creates luxury items from precious metals and stones and whose commissions have included a phial for Winchester Cathedral and guitar buckles for Sir Paul McCartney.
Hallidays unveil their next select gathering
FOR more than 20 years Hallidays have been holding selling exhibitions at their picturesque Oxfordshire showrooms at The Old College, Dorchester-on-Thames. Over the years to broaden the appeal they have invited guest specialist dealers to participate in the shows.
