The talks are twinned with practical demonstrations by furniture and ceramic restorers. The classes will be held at Newark, Detling, Shepton Mallet and Ardingly showgrounds and speakers include Henry and John Sandon, Madeleine Marsh, David Battie and Judith Miller.
They get underway at Newark on April 6, when the star attraction is Henry Sandon discussing Worcester porcelain.
Experts lined up for the master classes
FOLLOWING the well-received introduction of master classes to their events last year, DMG Antiques Fairs, the UK’s biggest organiser of the biggest fairs, will be repeating the initiative at 12 of their summer fixtures. Mike Turner, marketing controller at the fairs, says: “The master classes are designed to appeal to both experienced and amateur collectors which is why we hold them during general entry times.”
