Perhaps fewer readers, however, will know that a copy of Dandy No.2, with a 3in tear at the centre of the cover that may have been caused by the original insertion of the free gift Jumping Frog (still present and in full working order) was sold at £3426, and that a copy of the third issue, yet again one of only a handful of surviving copies, made £1650.

Sold for £2450 was a beautifully preserved copy of the fifth Dandy Monster Comic annual of 1943.
