The burglary took only five minutes and the thieves were gone by the time the police arrived soon after the museum’s alarm sounded. Along with a number of modern watches and rings, the items stolen included this 1920 Jensen candelabrum, right, and a 1919 Johan Rohde covered fish platter.
This is the first time the museum has suffered a heist in their 108 year history. The exhibition will continue as usual.

Pictured right is one of two major pieces of Georg Jensen silver stolen in a raid on Denmark’s National Art Gallery in the early hours of May 2. The thieves involved got away with an estimated £70,000 worth of silver that formed part of an exhibition featuring the work of the celebrated Danish silversmith.
