The aim, say Clarion Events, organisers of the three Fine Art & Antiques Fairs at the venue, is to further differentiate the Spring fair from the two other fairs in 2005. They also believe it will give a more accurate picture of the fair’s identity to the buying public.

Admired by many for its broad mix of the traditional and the contemporary, the Spring fair will next year be called The Art, Design and Antiques Fair, followed by the words, London, Olympia. The organisers will work to maintain the current mix of exhibitors but have also proposed the addition of a ‘design area’ where new artists and designers can show case their work alongside a new simpler stand design (reduced to 11ft) and a magazine-style fair catalogue. Despite the enormous publicity for this year’s event, much of it focused upon the loan exhibition of works by Prunella Clough, Clarion also believe a new marketing campaign for the fair is required.
