Initially the Chester office will only be open one day a week although Mark Newstead will also be available by appointment. Mr Newstead, who has had links with Chester for almost 20 years, joined the ceramics department of Sotheby’s Chester in 1985. In 1987 he moved to the ceramics department in London where he later was appointed UK regional director and ran the Stamford office for two years from 1998. He subsequently became a general valuer at Olympia in 2001.
There will also be a series of regular advisory days attended by Sotheby’s regional experts and visiting London specialists at the existing office in Lightfoot Street, Hoole on Tuesdays between 10am and 1pm.
