The big guns of the international dealing fraternity like Axel Vervoordt, Mallett, Jacques and Patrick Perrin and Ariana Dandois are all there, and this year there are seven newcomers, among them the well-known St James’s picture dealers MacConnal-Mason.
Joining from New York are Lillian Nassau, who is best known for Tiffany works and Cove Landing with 18th and 19th century European furniture and works of art.
From Philadelphia John Alexander joins with Arts and Crafts furniture and objects, and from Chicago comes the Douglas Dawson Gallery with Oceanic art. Also making their debut are Gerard Orts from Paris with 18th century furniture and Amells, who deal in Scandinavian pictures in both Stockholm and London.
Returning to the fair after some years are Partridge Fine Arts, one of the most venerable and respected dealers in 18th century furniture and works of art, who seem to have regained a taste for top fairs since they took a stand for the first time at last year’s Paris Biennale, and also coming back are New York rug dealer Doris Leslie Blau and New York Old Masters specialist Adam Williams.
The fair will be held at the Seventh Regiment Armory from October 17 to 23.
Top names take bigger stands with the Haughtons
NEW York’s top fair, Brian and Anna Haughton’s International Fine Art and Antique Dealers Show, is full with some 70 exhibitors and it is noticeable how many of the top dealers have gone for larger stands.
