In October, Alistair moves over to New York to exhibit at the International Fine Art and Antique Dealers Show from 17 to 23.

Among his highlights at the fair will be a pair of late 18th century English cast-iron armorial stags with gilt coronets around their necks. These beasts form part of the crest of the Steward family of Norfolk and are most probably those of John Steward, a Norwich attorney.

The dealer will also take to the fair a mid-17th century oil of Windsor Castle by Robert Streeter, one of the earliest English landscape painters, and a rare piece of treen which should certainly appeal to the Manhattan market – a ladle made by American prisoners-of-war.

Alistair Sampson returns to London for the Winter Fine Art and Antiques Fair at Olympia from November 10 to 16 but is back in New York from January 16 to 25 when, for the third year running, he joins forces with two eminent Manhattan companies, Chelsea Editions and antique textile specialists Cora Ginsburg.

Their joint Winter Selling Exhibition will be held at Chelsea Editions’ showrooms at The Fine Arts Building, 232 East 59th Street.
