Withe the departure of Sue Ede, organisers DMG Antiques Fairs, the biggest organisers of big fairs in Europe, are moving the Malvern administration to their Newark headquarters and have allocated a team to look after the one-day event, which houses some 200 dealers in a single building and regularly attracts 2000 visitors.
Lynne Boby and Tracy Barnard have been allocated Malvern, having already worked their way through DMG’s roster of fairs, including Detling, Ardingly, Shepton Mallett and their flagship Newark.
Commenting on the changes, Lynne said: “Whilst we will be introducing some new initiatives, including onsite security, these will only enhance the smooth running of this very popular event.”
The first thing that was introduced in time for the October 12 fair was the allocation of stallholder tickets and car passes to help stallholders find their spaces swiftly on arrival, which means more time to unload and set up.
Increased directional signage, both within the fair and on the roads outside, has been arranged, and local promotion, including an extensive poster campaign, has been stepped up.

CHANGES are afoot over the next few months at the popular Malvern International Antiques & Collectors Fair, held every month at Worcestershire’s Three Counties Showground.
