This weekend from July 11 to 13 she launches a new event, The First Southwold Summer Antiques Fair at St. Felix School, Southwold, Suffolk, and with 45 exhibitors it is her largest event to date, her usual tally being 41 or 42.

Last year Liz had to relocate her usual Spring Langley fair to Southwold, the scenic seaside home of Adnams ale, due to a fire at the Langley venue. This forced move proved fortuitous since the new sports hall at St. Felix School proved so popular that a permanent fixture was born.

Lomax Antiques Fairs are among that dwindling band who still work to datelines with furniture stopping at 1900, silver 1910, pictures and ceramics 1930, lighting 1950 and other items 1900.

But Liz has noted the move towards more contemporary work at current fairs and starting with Southwold introduces a new policy for her events. In future each dealer will be allowed to exhibit three works outside of the datelines, provided they are original and of good quality.

She feels this will add to the appeal of her fairs without detracting from the traditional feel which is what the majority of her visitors like.
Admission to the fair is £3.
