The gallery has been flourishing in Cowes for eight years, ever since it was opened by ex-newsreader Kenneth Kendall, who at 78 is still active in the business, and his partner Mark Fear.

This week Kendall’s open a London gallery in the heart of Chelsea on the lower ground floor of 6 Oakley Street, SW3, just off the King’s Road and close to Chelsea Fire Station.

Kendall’s show living artists and, not surprisingly in Cowes, the pictures often have a maritime theme. The stock will be somewhat different to suit the tastes of the capital and Mr Fear has recently returned from a trip to Australia where he signed up a stable of Australian artists with the Chelsea gallery in mind.

The London outlet will be open by appointment and you can phone to make an arrangement on 020 7351 6904.

For their next project the partners head west to Cornwall when for just two months in the summer, in July and August, Kendall’s will open a gallery at Trelowarren, near Helston, and here they expect to show work by Cornish artists.
