Between them they will run a programme of quarterly sales, focusing on a traditional range of antiques, including clocks, furniture, carpets and objects. “The rooms will be run in the traditional way, sourcing material from Wiltshire properties, with a view to building business as time progresses,” said Richard Madley, Hamptons’ Godalming-based managing director, who explained that the firm had decided to do away with the general sales at Marlborough.
The rooms have some of the most extensive parking facilities in the country, which are about to be upgraded again.
Open days will now be on Fridays. All sales will be held on Tuesdays with trade viewings for sales also on Fridays followed by public views on Saturdays, Sundays and late night on Mondays.

HAMPTONS re-open their Marlborough salerooms this week after a refurbishment that has taken the best part of a year. John Haycraft, formerly of Phillips, will head up the team there and will be assisted by Sarah Eames, who comes from outside of the industry.
