The Gramercy Garden Antiques Show at the 69th Regiment Armory on Lexington Avenue looks a good commercial bet, it is perhaps the biggest collection of garden furniture in one place at one time. French garden items are currently popular in the US but plenty of other nations are involved.

Expect gazebos, huge fountains and life-sized 19th century carved wood tigers, and plenty of carved stone dogs along with American garden chairs.

Darwin of Philadelphia are bringing a remarkable iron contraption, which, I am told is a mobile croquet bench with retractable wheels.

Admission is $12, and I am assured that for those buying a large statue or a cement birdbath, a forklift and specialist shipper will be on site.
