For health and other reasons, longtime Detroit auctioneer Frank Boos is to discontinue regular auctions and operate only as an appraisal and private treaty referral firm. His premises at 420 Enterprise Court, Bloomfield Hills building are to be sold while many staff have left.
These include former appraiser, auctioneer and cataloguer Douglas A. Dalton, who has decided to revive the auction and appraisal company he had “mothballed” in May 2000 – when he joined the Boos organisation. Mr Dalton’s business plan includes holding a fully catalogued sale every two months and a website.
His first sale will be held on October 5 at the Livonia, Michigan Holiday Inn.
